The City of Sombor and its project partners, Centre for knowledge, production and skills Novi Sad, Centre for Social Welfare Sombor and Halasi Média és Kultúra Nonprofit Kft took part at the second call for the INTERREG IPA programme of cross border cooperation between Hungary and Serbia 2014-2020.
This programme supports cooperation between organizations from the two countries, cultivation of their joint identity and heritage of the bordering region.
The goal of the programme and the project is to improve the quality of life in the bordering region of Hungary and Serbia and to enhance economic exchange.
„Social entrepreneurship for women in rural areas“ project was approved by the Programme Bodies of the INTERREG IPA programme for cross border cooperation between Hungary and Serbia 2014-2020 within their priority axis

4, action 4.2. „Stimulating and developing Social Entrepreneurship“ and represents a way of cooperation between the Centre for knowledge, production and skills Novi Sad, Centre for Social Welfare Sombor and Halasi Média és Kultúra Nonprofit Kft. The City of Sombor is the lead project partner. The goal of the project is to create environment that contributes to the development of the region through sustainable usage of natural resources, through development of social entrepreneurship and through raising capacities for founding clusters within social entrepreneurship among women in rural areas using innovative knowledge models and knowledge transfer. The project includes the following activities: study developing, raising awareness and training in social entrepreneurship for women in rural areas, purchasing equipment and training in growth, processing and production of lavender essential oils, founding clusters within social entrepreneurship, implementing data bases and Internet portal, as well as communication and publicity activities.
The total value of the project is 207.134.4 Euros, while the City of Sombor, the project partner, has the budget of 98.744,4 Euros.
